Rev. Gerald M. Fagin, SJ will lead a book discussion about his new book, Putting on the Heart of Christ. The event is Sunday, February 28 at Loyola University New Orleans. The event will be in the Danna Student Center in the St. Charles Room. The event is at 7pm and Rev. Fagin will sign copies of his book. Copies of Putting on the Heart of Christ will be available for sale. The proceeds will benefit the Loyola Institute for Ministry Scholarship Fund. A Year of Grace-Filled Days: 2010 App Now Available

Loyola Press has added A Year of Grace-Filled Days: 2010 to its mobile app offerings. Each day, the app delivers Scripture readings from Mass, a quotation from the readings, inspirational music, and a short reflection to spur meditation and prayer. In addition to the current day’s readings, users can view all readings from October 1, 2009 through December 21, 2010, while background images and color schemes change seasonally. This app is based on the popular Grace-Filled Days book series.

A Year of Grace-Filled Days: 2010 is available in the iTunes App store for $4.99. A lite version, with access to seven dates, is available for free.

This is the second of Loyola Press’s mobile app offerings: the highly popular 3-Minute Retreat app debuted in August 2009.

Authors on Blog Tour Answer Questions about Asking Questions

Two Chicago authors are beginning a blog tour to talk about the challenges of parenting, connecting with one’s children, and conversing with kids about everything from God to growing up.

These two authors recently released The Meal Box—a new mealtime product created to “get conversations cookin’.” National best-selling question-book author Bret Nicholaus and family expert Tom McGrath, created 54 two-sided cards. On one side of each card is a totally fun and creative question to get general conversation going; the reverse side contains a family faith tip that relates to the question and allows mom or dad to comfortably segue into various faith-related topics with their children.

This new product prompted the national blog tour. The first part of the blog tour will run from June 22nd – June 24th on the following blogs:

Bert Ghezzi will address the 18th Annual Religious Booksellers Trade Exhibit (RBTE) at a lunchtime talk on Wednesday, May 27 in St. Charles, Illinois. Ghezzi is the author of Mystics & Miracles: True Stories of Lives Touched by God and The Sign of the Cross: Recovering the Power of the Ancient Prayer. His newest book, Voices of the Saints: a 365-Day Journey with our Spiritual Companions, will be released in September 2009.
